They did it on the pitch in 1983 and the dons are still winning accolades at European level, this time in the UEFA Grassroots Awards.
The Aberdeen FC Community Trust was set up in 2014 and has since sought to improve the lives of those in the north east, through the provision of various sports and football programmes.
This Saturday, the club is hosting it’s annual AFCCT celebration day at their home match against Ross County and the SFSA is encouraging all don fans to go along and show their support.
In 2017, they won the award for best community and social responsibility award for their dementia friendly wellbeing initiative.
This great success was built upon less than 6 months ago, when the club was named “best professional club in the community” by UEFA at their annual grassroots awards.
So far, Aberdeen have distributed over 1000 tickets to 40 different groups for the game on Saturday.
