Fans do not have a say

Our first Fans Awards proved very popular and over the coming weeks we hope to interview some of the recipients. Apart from being a nice wee bit of fun there was a very serious reason for setting these awards up in the first place. As fans we are known to be the lifeblood of the game, however, despite the vast % of revenues that we generate at the at the turnstiles or by buying TV subscriptions there is no formal relationship between the football authorities and fans. Developing the Fans Awards was a small step to try and establish fans views and to get them articulated. Over the coming year we will be have a range of initiatives driven by fans for fans that we hope will help drive the Football Authorities to look at supporters in a different way. The status quo of us paying the money, being told nothing and having a clock of secrecy thrown around our game is simply no longer acceptable. This article below is very much worth a read.
