Following Sam

There was a great attendance at Hampden last Thursday, to see Jon Attenborough being interviewed by Football Memories Scotland’s’ Robert Harvey for the launch of Jon’s book, ‘Following Sam.’  The book describes Jon and his guide dog Sam’s adventures as they made their way around all 42 of Scotland’s senior grounds

Jon, who has recently joined the SFSA disability team, was in great form, telling us how having a guide dog had transformed his life.  He also revealed that although he had 100% confidence in Sam, he thought that Sam only had 50% confidence in him!  He also told us about how the book came about, the problems that visually-impaired people have in going to games, and how a group of Clyde fans went above and beyond to help him in Elgin when he wasn’t sure of the way to the ground.  We also learned of Jon’s love for music, and in particular Iron Maiden (a popular heavy metal combo m’lud,  if you haven’t heard of them!).
