This week, the SFSA spoke to LEAP Sports about their recent gathering for LGBTIQ supporters and fans groups that took place at Hampden Park.
The event, which was attended by fans from all over the country, focused on the three key themes of learning, collaboration and development.
Fan groups were trained in growing inclusivity for BAME, trans and disabled supporters, before they spoke about their journeys so far and shared the tips that they have for other groups. This was followed by a discussion into the next steps for Scottish football’s LGBTIQ fans movement.
Beatrice from LEAP said: “we had a range of existing fan groups and potential new fan groups in the room, so there was a variety of experiences and perspectives which made for interesting discussions throughout the day.”
