It has been reported that football clubs across Scotland face increased charges for rates and that it could lead to high prices at the gate. The Scottish Football Supporters Association believes that any increase in price has a very real danger or reducing the number of people who attend matches in Scotland. Given that he vast majority of our clubs act as a focal point for a wide range of local community activity and are not driven by profit, we believe that they should have a reduced rates burden compared to profit driven enterprises. The Scottish game has a very fragile economy and any further cost levied on it will certainly run the risk of further damage to it.
