BILLY BREMNER MEMORIAL JOIN OUR CAMPAIGN

Two key new appointments for the SFSA

Date: 21st August 2024

The Scottish Football Supporters’ Association is a voluntary organisation that only exists due to the efforts of a lot of people, working in the interests of fans the length and breadth of the country.  Our membership is solid (80,000+) and growing and our disability campaign has helped attract new members at the same time as highlighting the steadily improving facilities that our country’s football clubs provide for disabled fans.

Consequently, we are delighted to announce that the appointment of two, highly experienced and talented individuals to lead on disability and membership for the SFSA.

Stephen Reside

Stephen Reside – Lead on Disability for the SFSA

Stephen Reside is a Motherwell fan in a wheelchair (with cerebral palsy) who is well-known and highly respected for his work in disability campaigning.  Not only has he presented (as opposed to simply appearing) Off-the-Ball, he has also appeared in SFA videos, many articles in the press and broadcast media and on his own YouTube channel, “A Different View.”  Stephen will be working to contact, interview and engage with disabled fans groups and club DAOs at every level of the game and we are sure he’ll receive a warm welcome from you all.

David Drummond

David Drummond, Membership lead for the SFSA

David Drummond is a Hearts fan who is not only a Gorgie Road season-ticket holder but also a big fan of watching football at all levels. As he says, “if I drive past a playing field and there is a game on, I’ll stop the car and watch a corner being taken!”   David will lead on our membership, giving Paul Goodwin a well-deserved rest, and will be contacting as many different fans organisations (liaising with Stephen wherever possible) to encourage them to sign-up (it’s free and always will be!) to the fans’ union that is the SFSA and also to seek to get supporters groups to offer their own input into our think tank work that seeks to tackle some of the biggest challenges we have in the game in Scotland.
