We were delighted that our members at the Falkirk Supporters Society offered the chance to one of their supporters to present the SFSA National Fans’ Award for Manager of the Year Award to Falkirk’s John McGlynn, seen here being presented with his trophy by the competition winner Leah Yurtsever.. A very worthy winner indeed, given that (and we hope we’re not putting a hex on this) it looks likely that he’ll be taking his team to two successive promotions. John faced stiff competition from the likes of Celtic’s Brendan Rodgers, but we like to think that he won because football fans from all clubs recognise the immense challenges involved in taking one of Scotland’s bigger clubs from the depths to which they had, regrettably, sunk, turning them around and creating a team that is full of attacking intent and vigour. We don’t think many Premiership clubs will relish the trip to Falkirk next season!
A huge thanks to Paddy Hainey, Operations and Communications Manager at Falkirk FC (and SFSA member and former student volunteer) for organising the competition and to everyone who entered it. And, of course, our special thanks go as always to our long term supporters at Caithness Glass, who provide these splendid trophies.
