OFFSET YOUR WORLD CUP TRAVEL WITH GREENERTRAVEL
Date: 18th April 2025
We are delighted to announce that Jon Attenborough is joining our team of volunteers, to help Stephen Reside, our Lead on Disability, to continue to demonstrate the good work that is being done by so many clubs for disabled fans and footballers, while also seeking areas where improvements can be made.
Jon, who is visually impaired, is a very well-known figure across Scotland, who has appeared regularly on TV, radio and in the press. Over the last few years he has visited all our senior football grounds, accompanied by his guide dog, Sam. Very sadly, Sam died suddenly, soon after they had completed their tour together of the grounds, but he lives on in Jon’s soon-to-be published book, “Following Sam.” This details their journey, describing the emotional and physical hurdles that disabled supporters have to overcome to watch a football match.
Thank you for becoming involved Jon – and we look forward to hearing and seeing more about your travels around Scotland’s football grounds and what disabled fans can expect when they get there.
