The Scottish Football Supporters Association is the independent group that gives fans a voice. A cross between a trade union and a think tank, we’re influential – involved in the recent Holyrood Round Table on the future of Scottish football, sitting on the Scottish government committee on pyros and conducting robust and reliable research into the issues that concern fans of all clubs across the country.
Having just recruited a high-profile individual to lead on disability, we now want to do the same for women’s football and female fans. All our posts are voluntary, but, we believe, provide a very useful addition to a CV for anyone seeking to develop a career in sport.
More specifically, we are looking for someone who can give of their time to contact a wide range of female fans, clubs and influencers, write blogs about them, ideally record and edit video interviews and then post the results on our social media platforms. Liaison with our disability and membership teams will also be required, seeking to grow our membership beyond its current figure of c. 80,000. This person would also become our ‘voice’ to the media for all issues to do with the women’s game. Although the focus is on fans, we also support the growing number of women’s teams that are regularly seeking players at every level.
If you can’t quite commit to that level but would still like to help, we’re seeking volunteers to help share the load amongst our three-strong social media team.
