Rohl is see through
By Donald C Stewart
A sketchy and humorous look at the outpourings of the great, the good and the not so good of Scottish fitba’ by Donald C Stewart. Readers are warned that if they take this seriously then therapy is available – just let us know where you find it so we can pass it on to others…
Erstwhile manager of The Rangers, Danny Rohl has made it clear, especially when it came to long term servant of the Ibrox club, James Tavernier, he has been transparent.
Some have suggested he could be the solution to all sort of world problems if it proves that he is indeed see through and also if such an approach, actual does, in effect, in the long term, or even the short one, manage to achieve, in the fullness of time, not withstanding the relevant and apposite conditions which may apply from time to time, in accordance with both the conditions and the overarching principle which may from time to time apply, be successful.
Success has not singularly been a word spoken out loud in Govan for some considerable time.
Tavernier was refused by Rohl, the chance to start his final game for the Ibrox club, instead when offered a seat on the substitutes bench, he seems to have matched the disdain and declined the offer. Sources say that Tavernier was deeply upset by the way he was treated towards the end and has now gone off into the next stage of his career without having the send-off that he would want.
Transparency appears to have a critic.
Sweeping over the geopolitical mees we inhabit, some have suggested that Rohl’s transparency could have a role as the Govan envoy for the Middle East, where he could bring peace to the region – after all, peace reigns in the West Coast of Scotland thanks to The Rangers no managing to win the league.
Perhaps he is going to join the Labour Party so that he could stand in a by-election to become an MP and thus a future Prime Minister in a transparent effort to usurp the current incumbent.
Perhaps he could be Donald Trump’s envoy with Xi Jinping or in the Straits of Hormuz. Again, his transparency, someone suggested, probably me, was likely to be a hindrance more than an advantage.
In the meantime, what is next in Tavernier’s career will be settled over the next few weeks and months, however for Rohl the decision that he took on behalf of his entire team to deny a servant of the club an opportunity to walk out as captain for the very last time leading his side into the game against Hibernian is one that may come back to haunt him.
One thing for sure is that both Tavernier and Rohl shall be looking forward to putting this whole season behind them, though Celtic and Hearts might be hoping that any plans The Rangers or Danny Rohl put in place will be see through more than see saw after a season in which they won hee haw.
