Scoring more goals

 

  • Make goals larger
  • No goalkeeper allowed over 6ft
  • Keepers only allowed to roll or throw ball to teammates ( gets rid of the big punt up the park and too many pointless heading in middle of the park – see heading note below)
  • Keepers all have to go up the park for corners
  • Introduce short corners like in hockey if the ball goes out over between the six yard box – more chance of scoring
  • Not allowed to pass into your own penalty area
  • An extra point if you score more than 4 goals

 

 

Gloves

  • Ban gloves for outfield players  – if you are too cold –  go play somewhere nearer the equator
  • Ban gloves for keepers -back to the days of Ronnie Simpson keepers don’t wear gloves and the pam of their hands used to sting
  • Everyone wears gloves with sensors and an if it hits a players hand the referee gets an alert

 

Penalty kicks

  • If you win the penalty you have to take the penalty kick yourself
  • The nominated penalty kick taker is the keeper
  • Ban stuttering run ups – they look stupid
  • No penalty unless it hits a HAND
  • Penalty kicks to be taken blindfold if the match  ends in   a draw

 

Free Kicks

  • Do away with indirect free kicks
  • Any  free kicks in the opposition half have to be a shot at goal
  • No walls allowed

 

Kick offs

  • Not allowed to go backwards into own half

 

Heading

  • Ban heading the ball it is football we play not airball ( one from a conversation with John Collins a few years ago when talking about nurturing better technical players)
  • Heading only allowed in penalty areas ( we like a good headed goal) no more mindless middle of the park headers. ideas
  • Making it more competitive

 

  • Teams share the gate money
  • Two goals given if  you score from outside the box
  • Handicap system if  you win the league by say 8 points all the teams below you get 8 points of a start ,the next season
  • 0 -0 draw = no points
  • Rolling substitutes

 

Off side

  • Do away with offside completely
  • Offside only in the 18 yard box  – like the tried years ago in the Dryburgh Cup

 

Discipline

  • Red Card man sent off or opposition can bring on an extra man or let the man just go off – they decide
  • Referees all miked up
  • Yellow cards  = a sin bin for 10 mins
  • Automatic red card if you dive

 

Off the field

  • Do away with transfer window
  • If you keep it – you can only sack a manager during the window
  • No signing announced until you turn up too see who you signed in the first game of the season

 

More silly stuff

  • Shin guards need to be proper not a playing card
  • Ban coloured boots – black or you don’t get in the team
  • Ban  Alice bands – if you have long hair then let it flow cant get the advantage of being able to tie it up
  • Referees on mikes – just us hear the conversation between refs and linos
