Scotland Captain helps our Bremner Campaign

Date: 6th October 2025

Following our updated last week we are delighted that so many more Scottish Football Legends have come forward to help us drive the campaign forward. A huge thanks to our current Captain Andy Robertson who helped by signing our Legends and Captains shirt this weekend! Look out for more updates in the coming week.
The first phase of the fundraising will be a Leeds United focussed  raffle which will be announced soon!

The Scottish Football Supporters Association (SFSA) is leading a heartfelt campaign to honour legendary footballer Billy Bremner with a statue in his hometown of Stirling, Scotland.

Campaign Goals

  • Commission a statue of Billy Bremner near Weir Street in Raploch, where he grew up.
  • Celebrate his legacy as Scotland’s Greatest Ever Captain and Leeds United icon.

Key Partners

  • SFSA
  • Leeds United Supporters Groups
  • Raploch Community Council
  • University of Stirling
  • Stirling Community Enterprise
  • Tartan Army Magazine
  • Stirling Council

Artist Selection

  • After a competitive process, Kenny Hunter was chosen to design the statue, selected by a panel representing all partner organizations.

Cultural Heritage Project

  • Professor Richard Haynes of the University of Stirling developed “Fae Raploch to Elland Road”, a video chronicling Bremner’s journey from his early life in Stirling to football stardom.

Memorabilia & Fundraising

  • Signed replica 1974 shirts by Eddie Gray and Liam Cooper are part of the campaign—one for display, one for auction.
  • Contributors to the campaign are added to the Bremner Roll of Honour, with one lucky donor invited to the unveiling ceremony.

This initiative bridges Bremner’s legacy between Leeds and Stirling, ensuring his impact is celebrated both south and north of the border.
