Stirling Football Hall of Fame update

Date: 5th October 2026

The concept

The concept developed from the work on the Billy Bremner statue in Raploch which the SFSA has been working on these past 2 years. Having spoken to Stirling Council , Active Stirling and Stirling Albion there was a belief that there was scope to introduce a walking /cycling tour around all the focal points of football history as well as finding a way to celebrate the icons of the game who came from the Stirling area, but had not necessarily Played for Stirling Albion. So old Annfield, Bremner plaque and statue, world’s oldest ball ,Forthbank etc

The Launch event

The launch event held on 28^th August which got us the visibility and credibility to launch the concept it was well attended and allowed us to induct the first 5 legends into our Hall of Fame. Stirling Hall of fame launches – Scottish Football Supporters Association – SFSA and our website is now live www.stirlinghalloffame.co.uk

28.08.2026 Stirling football Hall of Fame launch : Provost Rosemary Fraser with Billy Bremner’s daughter Amanda

The next steps

We will shortly be running an auction that will allow us to start the fundraising proper.
Our team will meet again to start the process of looking to funding streams that would allow us to complete the whole project. Estimated costs are £90,000 for the statue and £20,000 for the full Hall of Fame and Tourist plan. We have already secured £10,000 and the fundraising will continue and will be supplemented by grant applications.
Announcement to follow on the Jimmy Bone Blue Plaque which we hope to get placed in November.

If anyone wishes to be part of the team that is running the project please get in touch with Paul Goodwin on 07702 252519 of if you just wish to be included in our Stirling Hall of Fame mailing list send a message to info@scottishfsa.org adding HALL OF FAME TO the title.
