The study examines political and ethical controversies surrounding the FIFA World Cup 2026, how these issues are covered by the media, and how fans engage with them in relation to the perceived legitimacy of FIFA and the World Cup as an institution.
The survey includes questions on media consumption habits, awareness of and attitudes toward key issues surrounding the tournament, particularly commercialisation and immigration, as well as general perceptions of FIFA and the World Cup. Participation is voluntary and anonymous, respondents must be at least 18 years old, and completion takes approximately 5–10 minutes.
