The Bank Holiday for Scotland

 A Bank Holiday for Scotland games confirmed by the First Minister Scotland is set to receive a new bank holiday in 2026 to celebrate the men’s national team’s return to the World Cup. The proposed holiday is for the day after the opening match against Haiti, which is scheduled for June 14, 2026. This decision aims to allow the Scottish public to celebrate the team’s success and the country’s participation in the tournament for the first time since 1998. The proposal has been made by First Minister John Swinney and is subject to confirmation by the King through Royal Proclamation.
